Russia: Dobrynya the police puppy handed over to French ambassador

Lol. Look at him. So cute and acting just like a kid would under the circumstances - bored.

Russia's Interior Ministry gifted a German Shepherd puppy named Dobrynya to the French ambassador in Moscow on Monday as a replacement for a police dog that was killed during a French special forces raid in Paris last month. Jean-Maurice Ripert was handed the puppy in a ceremony at the French Embassy in the Russian capital...

SOT, French ambassador to Russia Jean-Maurice Ripert (French): "Deputy interior minister, gentlemen officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, ladies and gentlemen, I would like to tell you that it is an honour for my family, for my wife, and for me to welcome you here today at the embassy. I think that we're going to have a very special occasion - to organise a meeting here, at the embassy, in honour of a police dog."

SOT, Deputy Head of the Ministry of the Interior Igor Zubov (Russian): "We named our and, well, now your pet Dobrynya in honour of the Russian hero Dobrynya Nikitich, who represents the power of courage and justice and compassion for one's neighbours."

SOT, Deputy Head of the Ministry of the Interior Igor Zubov (Russian): "We ask you, ambassador, to convey this wonderful puppy to our French colleagues and the police. I hope that he will [help] ensure law and order in your country for many years."
