Sculpture creates a hypnotizing animation when it spins

Hypnotizing indeed! Amazing. Look what happens when you spin these 3-D printed sculptures designed by inventor/artist John Edmark to animate when spun...

The placement of the appendages is determined by the same method nature uses in pinecones and sunflowers. The rotation speed is synchronized to the strobe so that one flash occurs every time the sculpture turns 137.5ยบ—the golden angle. If you count the number of spirals on any of these sculptures you will find that they are always Fibonacci numbers.

For this video, rather than using a strobe, the camera was set to a very short shutter speed (1/4000 sec) in order to freeze the spinning sculpture. John Edmark teaches design at Stanford University.

Amazing Street Art Painting 3d pictures

Amazing! This fellow painted this 3-D art like it was nothing. Probably done it a million times, being a street artist and all. Let's hope he sold many which seemed to be going for about 20 euros each, (about $27 CDN)...

Space Station Astronauts Grow a Water Bubble in Space

We sure wished we had a pair of these 'red and blue stereoscopic 3D vision glasses' they recommended to view this vid but nevertheless, it was equally just as cool to watch! See the 2nd vid of the 3-D version below...

During Expedition 40 in the summer of 2014, NASA astronauts Steve Swanson and Reid Wiseman — along with European Space Agency astronaut Alexander Gerst — explored the phenomenon of water surface tension in microgravity on the International Space Station. The crew "submerged" a sealed GoPro camera into a floating ball of water the size of a softball and recorded the activity with a 3-D camera. (Video: NASA)
Note: You will need red-blue stereoscopic 3D vision glasses to view the video.
