Introducing Project Wing

Ok. What's Google up to now? And why are they looking for partners who can help them bring this technology to the world? Introducing, "Project Wing":
Project Wing is a Google[x] project that is developing a delivery system that uses self-flying vehicles. As part of our research, we built a vehicle and traveled to Queensland, Australia for some test flights. There, we successfully delivered a first aid kit, candy bars, dog treats, and water to a couple of Australian farmers. We’re only just beginning to develop the technology to make a safe delivery system possible, but we think that there’s tremendous potential to transport goods more quickly, safely and efficiently.

A First Drive

A driverless car you say? Yes. This car drives itself! And as the Google Self-driving Car Project explains, they won’t have a steering wheel, accelerator pedal, or brake pedal… because you won’t need them...

Fully autonomous driving has always been the goal of our project, because we think this could improve road safety and help lots of people who can't drive.

We're now developing prototypes of vehicles that have been designed from the ground up to drive themselves—just push a button and they'll take you where you want to go! We'll use these vehicles to test our software and learn what it will really take to bring this technology into the world.

Project Loon: The Technology

The majority of the world is not connected to the internet? Say what?
What new project is Google up to now?  Watch and see!

We believe it's possible to create a ring of balloons that fly around the globe on the stratospheric winds and provide Internet access to the earth below. Balloons present some really hard science problems, but we're excited about the progress so far.
