NEW Octopus Species: February 27, 2016

He's probably thinking, who the hell are you guys.
You've all probably heard by now about the recently discovered octopus species some are dubbing 'Casper the Friendly Ghost', found in the deep ocean floors off Hawaii. Well, here's a great video by oceanexplorergov, giving you a clear and crisp view of the now famous little creature...

During the first dive of the Okeanos Explorer 2016 Hohonu Moana: Exploring Deep Waters off Hawaii expedition to explore on the northeast side of Necker Island, the Deep Discoverer remotely operated vehicle encountered this octopus, which confused several of our shore based scientists who have never seen anything like it. Upon further review, this ghostlike octopod is almost certainly an undescribed species and may not belong to any yet-described genus.

Technology at its finest! Kīlauea is the most active of Hawaii's volcanoes and the lava has been slowly creeping towards residential area for months, after first flowing from the volcano back in June. Now residents of the village of Pāhoa in Hawaii are preparing for evacuations, as lava moves dangerously close to their homes.
Over the weekend, the Puna lava flow has sloped down a hillside, covering a roadway in its path and moving across a cemetery. This drone footage by TC Drone from Oct. 25 shows the proximity of the lava to structures...

Wow! This old viral vid from 2012 is surfacing once again and it's pretty cool how this girl, Kawehi, originally from Honolulu, Hawaii,  does a remake of Michael Jackson's "The Way You Make Me Feel", with her 'Boss RC-300 LOOP STATION'...

Lol.  You won't catch us anywhere near these cliffs anytime soon, but what an awesome adventure to watch!  Time to go cliff diving in Oahu with Devin Graham and his friends
