Where Does New York City's Trash Go? | Living City | The New York Times
New York City has 'the most complex waste management system in North America' and one of the largest sanitation departments in the world and every day more than 7,200 men and women of the department, go out in 2000 collection trucks, according to Kathryn Garcia, Commissioner of New York City of Department of Sanitation, to collect the waste from a city of over 8.4 million people!
So where does all this trash go? In this viral vid by The New York Times, they show us where all this waste goes starting from the sidewalks and garbage trucks to treatment facilities and upstate farms....
