2 Dramatic Captures on Film of Recent Avalanche on Everest Base Camp 25.04.2015

The recent earthquake in Nepal triggered an avalanche on Mount Everest killing at least 17 people at Base Camp. Dozens of teams were training and acclimatizing themselves to higher altitudes as they prepared to make summit attempts in the next few weeks, when the avalanche hit.

A German photographer captured the moment the avalanche came down on a group of people. "The ground is shaking," a climber calls out. The others laugh in response. Seconds later the group of men start running as they see a massive cloud of snow coming towards them. With no time left to spare, the men went behind a yellow tent in an attempt to take cover. Seconds later, the climbers are buried and are heard gasping for air...
