Dashcam Video Shows Toddler Falling Out Of Moving Van in China
OMG. That's one tough kid! Thank heavens for small miracles. The outcome could have been so much worse for this toddler captured on a dash cam, falling out the back of a moving van. Why was he not in a car seat?? Well apparently child safety car seats are not common in China, and according to People's Daily, child mortality rate from traffic accidents in the country is extremely high because of this.
The footage was captured on a dash cam on the car behind in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, on the morning of February 27, reports the People's Daily Online.
Luckily the driver, identified as Jiang, immediately stopped, preventing the little boy from harm. The boy's grandfather, Yang Defu, was unaware he had fallen out of the back and drove on without stopping.
According to the grandfather, the back door had been damaged in a previous accident causing it to occasionally fly open on its own.
On the day of the incident, the young boy climbed over the back seat and fell out of the vehicle when the door opened.
