A Viral Vid of the '50s? This 1955 Pet Video From Germany Features a "Family of Pets

This is awesome being able to see that even back in 1955, before the idea of internet was even thought of, earlier generations shared our love for animal videos too. The video shows a family of pets owned by a lady in Berlin.

This video is made possible for all to see thanks to Associated Press and British Movietone who are uploading more than a million minutes worth of footage, that's more than 550,000 videos to both YouTube channels that documents the most momentous and historic events of the last 120 years!!

That means you'll be able to watch first hand captures of historical events such as the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the effects of the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, and the collapse of the Berlin Wall, just to name a few. Check out some the gems we've already discovered in the playlist below...

AP has built up a staggering archive over its 120 year lifespan. Alwyn Lindsey, AP's director of international archive, said that the channels would stand as a visual encyclopedia of perhaps the most turbulent century in human history. "At AP we are always astonished at the sheer breadth of footage that we have access to, and the upload to YouTube means that, for the first time, the public can enjoy some of the oldest and most remarkable moments in history."
