Benedict XVI now on twitter

Lol, even the Pope is using Twitter...

Pope Benedict XVI sent out his first-ever message via Twitter under his personal Twitter handle: @pontifex, on Wednesday at the end of the general audience . He wrote "Dear friends I am pleased to get in touch with you through Twitter. Thank you for your generous response. I bless all of you from my heart." It is also understood that the Pope's followers have already topped the 1 million mark. Through the course of the afternoon, the Holy Father will be responding to a series of questions chosen from those submitted to #askpontifex

X-Cube

And you thought the Rubik's cube was hard!

I created this using CAD and 3D printing. It's a Rubik's type puzzle with fully functional additional layers on four of the faces of a typical Rubik's Cube.

This project was completed through the Idea Shop at the Illinois Institute of Technology.

Meet Porter. The World's First Driving Dog.

We had this story (vid) last week on MFS-CrazyandTrue and we couldn't wait to see the end results...   It was so amazing and interesting to watch how a charity in New Zealand, the SPCA  trained these dogs over a period of time using a modified MINI Countryman.  Great job SPCA of New Zealand!  Great job doggies!

Dogs this smart deserve a home.
Every year, the SPCA need to find homes for thousands of dogs just like Porter -- dogs who have been abused, abandoned, or just forgotten. Our dogs may be a motley bunch, but they're all smart and they're all lovable. So please don't forget about them. Adopt them.
To find out more about our #drivingdogs head to www.drivingdogs.co.nz or visit www.spca.org.nz today to adopt a dog.

M4SONIC - Virus (Live Launchpad Original)

Whoa! These Launchpads are pretty cool!  And this Australian beatmaker sure knows how to use one as he shows off his Launchpad skills!

This is an original composition performed live on two Novation Launchpads in User 1 mode. The two MIDI controllers are playing original samples in a sequence to create the sound. The right hand controls most of the tuneful sounds whilst the left hand is responsible for keeping in time, playing a custom drum kit and various FX and vocal loops.

We've Got To Break Up (Song A Day #1435)

Lol.  Well that was different.  A couple splitting up but announces it through a song they've created.  If only we could all split up this way... yeah, right.

The Things We Do - To Be on Youtube, lol.  We wish them the best of luck!

Yes, it's true folks. Ivory and I are splitting up. It's really sad. I'm really sad. I think you may have been able to tell in some recent songs. It's going to be a hard road ahead for me, but I know that this is the right decision and that eventually we'll both be happier in the end.

I just want to say, thanks for being out there, watching my stuff and commenting and sending me messages. Your support and love during this time of crisis in my life means so, so much.

Cambodia Hyperlapse - Moving Timelapse

Nice!  This is one for our 'unique' file. Timelapsing to a different beat!  Great scenery and captures!

A movie I made to stretch my creative and technical abilities - Ive grown tired of the standard timelapse and wanted to help push the genre in a more exciting direction.
Shot on a 7d
I made this on weekends and holidays over the timespan of 6 weeks and edited most of each of the timelapses as I went to avoid an extreme backlog. I used a simple tripod and $8 intervalometer for most of the shots - no expensive equipment was used like dollies or steadicams. Thanks for watching!

Please educate yourself about the horrible atrocities that are happening in Cambodia right now with child sex-trafficking and what can be done to bring an end to it http://agapewebsite.org/aims-story/

Watch 25,000 Bears Fly at Teddy Bear Toss - Calgary Hitmen 2012

Lol, more teddy bear tossing going on folks! Oooh we feel like gettin' cuddly.  This time they are being tossed in Calgary and from a different angle - top view.  By-the-way, the official count after the video was shot - 21,453 bears!

Wooooooo! One of the greatest things you'll ever see at a junior hockey game is the Teddy Bear Toss. 25 000 bears are brought in and thrown on the ice the moment the home team scores.

The anticipation in the building is like an overtime game as everyone is waiting to toss their bear. Watch 25 000 bears raining on the ice (watch the Kootenay team leave very quickly after the goal was scored) it took nearly 45 minutes to clean the ice and load the bears on to trucks before the game resumed.

Landings at San Diego Int Airport Nov 23, 2012

All landings at San Diego Int Airport on Black Friday Nov 23, 2012 between 1030am and 300pm

Make Music in the Corner Shop with Red Stripe.

Wow!  This was so cool to watch.  And it's Red Stripe Beer!  One of our favs from JA!  What a great set-up at Best Supermarket in Dalston's Kingsland High Street.

We think the song was 'A Message to You Rudy' by The Specials.

Way to go Londoners!  And great to see all kinds of people liking the island stuff, mon!

An ordinary looking East London corner shop was hacked to play a familiar tune whenever anyone picked up a Red Stripe, much to people's surprise.

My Cat Can Ride a Bike Better Than You Can

Im using my gopro to show you how my kitty cat MJ and I ride our bikes around Philadelphia.

CHARLI Robot Gangnam Style

Lol. They just keep comin' folks.  Now it's a robot they got doing the popular PSY song.

The CHARLI series humanoid robot is developed as a research platform to study bipedal walking and autonomous behaviors for humanoid robots. It is designed to be ultra light weight (under 15 kgs) for safety and low cost. As the next generation of the CHARLI series humanoid robots, CHARLI-2 improves stability and speed in walking, intelligence and autonomy, and soccer playing skills. CHARLI-L2 is also designed to participate in the autonomous robot soccer competition, RoboCup, in the Adult size league.
CHARLI-2 implements an impressive active stabilization strategy based on sensory feedback (filtered IMU angles, gyro rate readings and proprioception information based on joint encoders.) Stabilizing torques at the ankle joints are applied based on this information, and successful ly rejects external disturbances. CHARLI-2 is honored "2011 Best Invention of the Year" by Time magazine, won the Louis Vuitton Best Humanoid Award (a.k.a. Louis Vuitton Cup) at RoboCup 2011, and won First Place in AdultSize league for autonomous soccer at both RoboCup 2011 and RoboCup 2012 among many awards.

2012 Halloween Light Show - Gangnam Style

OMG!  Now it's a Gangnam Style light show!! Lol.  How cool is that??  Just when we thought we'd never put another Gangnam style remake...lol  Only in the great US of A!

Halloween Gangnam Style
Over 8,500 lights and roughly 250 channels of computer animation.

Special thanks to Kevin Judd for the inspiration. This is a hobby and the display has been in the making for about year. The Gangnam Style video was a last minute addition made possible by a LightOrama forum member, Torqumada286, who graciously sharing the lead singer's mouth/vocal programming sequence with me. I tweaked it some, added the back up singers, and sequenced the rest of house and yard props myself.

Unfortunately we don't have exclusive rights to the "syndication Option" on YouTube and therefore can't enable mobile viewing. This is due to copyright claim, content id match or licensed music being contained in YouTube postings.

The Rapping Weatherman's Off Air Freestyle & Gangnam Style Dance

KMVT CBS 11/KTWT FOX 14 Morning Meteorologist Nick Kosir gets caught doing some off-air rapping and Gangnam Style dancing.

Taylor Swift pick up lines

Oh my gaaaaaawd.  Lol, we were all turning red watching this poor guy using pick-up lines from Taylor Swift songs to try to pick-up chicks.

I want a girlfriend like Taylor Swift, so I decided to see if Taylor Swift's lyrics could be used as pick up lines. Awkwardness ensues.
