Meet Da Vinci, The Chestnut Foal With the Unusual Horse-marking

Meet Da Vinci the chestnut foal, so called because of the unusual marking of another horse on his left side near his mane. He was born at Flying Hall riding school in North Yorkshire, England to the surprise of owner Wendy Bulmer:

“I bought his mother at a sale and didn’t know she was…[pregnant] so that was a bit of a surprise,” she told the Daily Mail. “Chestnut horses have irregular patches but they don’t normally make something as recognizable.”

“It looks like an optical illusion, but this foal was born with his own perfect white shadow!”

Da Vinci, the seven-week-old foal who also has a white heart shape on his bottom, is doing well and is said to be friendly and much loved by Bulmer’s children.
