Ooops! The 90,000-ton cruise ship crashed into a Ketchikan dock last Friday afternoon, not only damaging itself but taking out docking facilities - Berth 3. Estimated damage - $2 to $3 million...
Video taken from Dock 3 as Celebrity Infinity slams into the dock in Ketchikan. June 3, 2016
Robert Knox of Alaska Amphibious Tours was on a nearby walkway, watching the Infinity try to maneuver.
“At first the bow was coming straight in and we figured the bow was going to hit,” Knox said. “And the pilot of the ship was actually able to get the stern turned back so the stern hit the berth instead first. The pilot did deploy the anchor and still didn’t slow the ship down.”
An 'Only in Alaska' moment occurred and had everyone talking when a pregnant moose gave birth to her baby – right in a parking lot...

In Anchorage, Alaska, there are about 1,500 moose who live in the city, and this time of the year is calving season. The animals often give birth in Alaska's many wooded parks and occasionally residential back yards. However, this week, a female moose gave birth to a calf in a large mall's parking lot.
This is the incredible moment a humpback whale feeds just feet away from docked boats showing off his giant mouth.
Fisherman Cy Williams watched as the behemoth majestically beached the surface of the water at Knudson Cove Marina, Alaska, USA.
As Cy tried to follow the whale’s path under the stationary vessels – including his own – on Monday May 2, he spotted bubbles heading toward the surface.
Meanwhile in Alaska...An eagle, a fox and a cat are all getting along. Look at them all, lol. This old classic vid from 2012 has been viewed over 8M times. They were all hanging out on a lady's porch somewhere in Alaska...
See how the fox, eagle and cat are all just fine hanging out and no one is trying to attack anyone and they are getting along just fine? Notice the eagle in the background on the lamp post down by the street. That is the partner to this eagle. They aren't always out to attack and kill each other. Our fox and eagles and cats basically get along just fine here. Sometimes if there is food they might fight over the food some. I live in Unalaska, Alaska in the Aleutian Islands.
We guess it's that time of year - when Moose are on the hunt for their females to impress and mate with so when it comes to duking it out for their gal, they'll do it anywhere - and a quiet suburban neighbourhood is no exception. Now move along folks, it's just another day in Anchorage, Alaska...
First she was thanking the bear for leaving her kayak alone, then the next minute she was pepper spraying him him. “Bear! Bear! You’re breaking it! You’re breaking my kayak.” Can you believe this vid has over 2M views already? You'll probably understand why after watching it. We think under those circumstances we'd let the bear eat whatever it wanted so long as it wasn't us. Brave woman... we think...
During a solo kayak trip, intended to go from from Ketchikan, Alaska to Petersburg, Alaska bear attacked my kayak. This incident occurred outside of a US Forest Service cabin in Berg Bay, Wrangell District, Alaska. I had just carried my tent, food, and all my gear into the cabin to dry while I went on a 4 mile hike that begins just behind the cabin. I heard something outside as I ate my lunch, and well, I never got to go on that hike. This video is taken 5 minutes after the attack began, he continued to gnaw on it for another 5 or 10 after the video ends. Shortly after the bear left and I drug the kayak back to the cabin door step. Then I swam to the S/V anchored in the bay. They did not have their radio on and I feared I would be stranded! The German flagged S/V Caledonia took me and my things to Wrangell but headed home to Ketchikan on the ferry Monday!
Move it along. Nothing to see here. Just a mother moose and her calves playing in the sprinkler on somebody's front lawn. Just another day in Alaska...
The wife pun aside, this octopus escaping off a boat through a tiny hole was quite entertaining to watch. The vid was shot in Chiswell Islands, Alaska...
This partial segment from the movie 'Afterglow - Full Film by Sweetgrass Productions', is being hailed as one of the most cinematically profound ski movies ever. You'll agree too after watching the skiers in the Alaskan beauty, all filmed at night, 'with massive lights, custom made LED suits, and a national governments worth of logistics, planning, and civil engineering.' The full film is further below...
You don't have to ski to know this definitely looks insane - from both angles! Watch skier Cody Townsend performing his crazy award wining 'Line of the Year' ski stunt down an almost straight-drop and narrow slope in the Alaskan wilderness!...
Nice!! Using custom LED light suits and massive colored lights all over the mountains, GoPro captured some awesome night skiing down the mountains of the Alaskan backcountry...
The uploader of this viralling vid, Cory Williams, recommends you wear headphones to watch this vid so you can really listen to the coolest sound ever!...
Cory and his girlfriend took a trip over to the Edmonds Lake as they explore their new life in Alaska. Just as they were approaching it, Cory had his eureka! moment. The lake seemed like the perfect place to skip a rock... because it'll never go in.
Lots of tossing around going on in the animal kingdom lately, lol. Poor sea lion. He was hiding under the boat because he was being stalked by a killer whale, until the boat left...
