The Proposal: Burger King + McDonald's = the McWhopper

Peace One Day? Never heard of it in our lives! We wonder if McDonald's will go along with this? So Burger King wants to team up with McDonald's to create a McWhopper in honour of Peace Day on September 21st. A burger built for world peace. Right. So together they can make a more peaceful obese world? We don't get it but we guess it's better than a violent obese world. Could there be such a thing? Everyone would be too fat to move. Oh nevermind. Watch the vid...

McDonald’s Corporation has not yet authorized this usage or accepted this proposal. All mentions of “McDonald’s” are references to McDonald’s Corporation.

Remove labels this Ramadan | شوف الناس بقلبك في رمضان

Score one for Coca-Cola!! In this powerful Ramadan-themed ad campaign, Coca-Cola Middle East encourages people not to judge each other by actually removing the labels from its cans...

A group of strangers are invited to bond with each other over dinner, but in the dark. They're filmed (with infrared cameras) discussing their lives, hobbies and interests, and when the lights goes on, they express their surprise at the people they were talking to. The group includes a heavily tattooed guy, a man in traditional Arab dress and a wheelchair user. At the end of the film, the group are invited to reach under the table to pull out of a box of limited edition Coke cans, from which the labels have been removed and the caption "Labels are for cans, not for people" has been printed. - creativity-online

Fast Fact: Ramadan is the ninth month in the Islamic calendar or the Hijri calendar where observant Muslims do not eat or drink during daylight hours, for a month. This is because fasting is one of the five pillars of Islam. The other acts of worship are the shahadah, which is the declaration of faith; salat, the five daily prayers; zakat, or almsgiving; and the hajj, the pilgrimage to Mecca.

Racism Is Real • BRAVE NEW FILMS

In light of what's been going in Baltimore recently, racism still exists today in this day and age. Whether you choose to ignore it or just don't believe it, perhaps this film by Brave New Films will put things into perspective for you...

Something is wrong when thousands of resumes are mailed to employers with identical information and black-sounding names are 50% less likely to get a call back. Something is wrong when black people are charged prices roughly $700 higher than white people when buying cars. Something is wrong when black drivers are twice as likely to get pulled over by the police and black male teens are 21 times more likely to be killed by cops than their white counterparts. Something is wrong when black people are incarcerated at nearly six times the rate of white people.

Brave New Films wants you to sign the pledge:
"To acknowledge that racism is an everyday reality, that white privilege exists, and that it is my duty to make the United States a more just and equitable place in my lifetime!"

Dislife: More than a sign.

“Parking signs mean nothing for many drivers in Russia. They prefer to forget about the people “behind them”. That is what we are fighting with in this project” – said Yuri Kovalev, the founder of Dislife, the nonprofit organization who is creating awareness for drivers who park in spots reserved for people with disabilities...

The equipment installed on disabled parking spaces was able to instantly project a holographic image on a thin air screen saturated with water mist, invisible to human eyes. Hidden cams verified the presence of a disabled sticker on windshields of an approaching car. If the sticker wasn’t detected, the holographic image of a real disabled person appeared in front of the car and started talking with the driver who didn’t respect the parking law. The interactive communication of drivers and hologram was filmed on hidden cams and has become a part of an online-video.

The Face of Litter

Great idea! If you're going to litter, maybe knowing that your face will be plastered all over for everyone to see, will make you think twice!...

Littering and excess waste is an ongoing problem that needs to be faced, once and for all. Taking this statement literally, the Hong Kong Cleanup used DNA phenotyping to put a face to litterbugs. The campaign can be seen around the city, warning people not to litter, at the risk of becoming the next face of the campaign. Learn more@ ecozine

Guns With History

“…this revolver, it’s the easiest gun we have to use. It’s our most popular one. It’s a 22-caliber, six-inch revolver,” the store clerk spiels. “It’s also a gun that a five-year-old found in his parents’ bedroom, went down and shot his nine-month-old baby brother with it.” That's the kind of sales pitch you'll never hear at a gun store but this powerful vid by States United To Prevent Gun Violence was created to prevent people from purchasing a gun under the false pretense it will make them feel 'safer'.

As part of the group’s “#GunsWithHistory” campaign, customers were notified that they were part of a social experiment, and hidden cameras filmed their reactions when told of the history of each gun they were thinking of buying. - nyagv

The Mother ‘Hood Official Video

"Stay-at-home moms," one says. "I wonder what they do all day?" another asks.

Oooh. That's mean.  These parents are facing off on the playground about their 'motherly' duties. Some moms stay at home, some work. Some breastfeed - others don't. One's ridiculing disposable diapers saying, "Well apparently we don't care about the environment," and so on it goes. In the end, we are all parents. This vid by the baby formula company, Similac, wants us to help put an end to judgement...
