Incredible time lapse of birds nest.

Oh no! Incredible time lapse all right - but with an unhappy ending...

Found a nest in my front yard and decided to sneak my GoPro close by. Was hoping to see the eggs hatch but instead this happened... recorded@1fps in 4K. Be sure to watch in HD!

Hvar - into the storm. Stunning stormy island timelapse footage spanning 2 years

Magnificent!...
Spectacular atmospheric phenomena of Croatian island Hvar captured in stunning slow motion and time lapse video!

Hvar may well be "the sunniest Croatian island", clocking in the average 2726 hours of sun yearly, drawing in thousands of tourists, sailboats and yachts, but it also has a darker side.

The creative duet Mario Romulic and Drazen Stojcic spent 2 years filming the skies around the famed island, and were lucky enough to capture some spectacular thunderstorms in slow motion and time lapse techniques. They shot over 350,000 thousand photographs, picking "only" 10,000 best frames for this film. The filming took place on the island Hvar itself, but also from mountain Biokovo and nearby island Brac.

Romulic & Stojcic are well known for their acclaimed time lapse videos of Croatia, many of which have gone viral and attracted a wide national and international attention

Monitor Lizard Decomposition Time Lapse - Earth Unplugged

Warning: Some gut turning images

These guys from BBC Earth Unplugged usually slow things down (see a few of these incredible videos further below), but this time they're speeding things up in this time lapse vid of a rotting lizard...
What happens when an animal dies? This week Sam and Si speed things up using time lapse for a change - as they watch what happens to a deceased Savannah monitor lizard over the course of a month. The circle of life springs into action as we highlight some of the stages of decomposition, and showcase the little beasties that get involved along the way.
*The lizard used in this film was donated to us by a licensed and reputable source, and wasn't harmed in any way to make this episode.

Using incredible high speed camera work the team reveal how a Goshawk attacks it's prey during mid flight.

Using incredible high speed camera work we reveal how the Barn Owl makes its silent attack.

Storm Jonas, which claimed at least 19 lives in the US, also captured a lot of peoples' fascination. Many interesting time-lapse videos were created. These 3 videos capturing the snow accumulation over an elapsed period of time, truly captured the scope of the storm...

Time-lapse video of blizzard - shot with Garmin VIRB X, 1 sec interval, sped up to 16x speed. Time: from Friday January 22, 2:40 pm to Sat. Jan 23, 7:45 pm

Time Lapse Illustration - The Woods

It's not just the drawing by artist Jake Lockett we found most interesting but also the way he captured and presented it in this video. This personal project which he documented from start to finish over several months, was his second attempt at such a project and took over 9000 frames between two cameras running simultaneously and him doing everything from photography, drawing and editing to grading...

The Longest Way 1.0 - walk through China and grow a beard! - a photo every day timelapse

Great time lapse/photo-every-day vid by Christoph Rehage who takes us on his journey through China - a 4500km trek that took a year and growing a beard in the process. He started out on November 9th, 2007....

INFO:
▶ I never finished my original goal of walking to Germany. Instead, I walked for a year and roughly 4500km, passed the Gobi desert, and then decided to stop walking for now.
▶ All of the distance from Beijing to Ürümqi was completed solely on foot, straight good old walking. There are instances where you can see me in the video sitting on a plane or riding a boat, but those are during breaks I had to take from walking, either to sort out bureaucracy issues or to take care of some personal things.
▶ I had been planning this trip for over a year before I even started, and getting as far as I got was an experience for which I am very grateful.
▶ Obtaining the necessary visa for a trip like this was not very easy, hence I had to go back to Beijing a few times to resolve some issues.
▶ This is not a strict "1 pic a day" video, because I wanted to make it a bit more alive by adding some additional movement. Sometimes during the film you would follow me turn around, or something would happen in the background. I tried to capture these moments to make the video more interesting.
▶ If you liked the music I used in this video, get it here: The Kingpins - "L'Aventurier" http://bit.ly/RXOMaz Zhu Fengbo - "Olive Tree"http://bit.ly/UDsHT7
▶ The core of this project is in actually my blog where I have posted my extensive travel diary, starting from day 1 (Nov 9th 2007) and describing every single day until the end one year later.

NASA | SDO: Year 5

Amazing time lapse vid from NASA's SDO capturing the sun in all its glory!.....

February 11, 2015 marks five years in space for NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory, which provides incredibly detailed images of the whole sun 24 hours a day. Capturing an image more than once per second, SDO has provided an unprecedentedly clear picture of how massive explosions on the sun grow and erupt ever since its launch on Feb. 11, 2010. The imagery is also captivating, allowing one to watch the constant ballet of solar material through the sun's atmosphere, the corona.

In honor of SDO's fifth anniversary, NASA has released a video showcasing highlights from the last five years of sun watching. Watch the movie to see giant clouds of solar material hurled out into space, the dance of giant loops hovering in the corona, and huge sunspots growing and shrinking on the sun's surface.

Blackout City

Video editor Nicholas Buer used the city of London, and his skills incorporating time lapse images, to take us into a world we rarely never see...

In a metropolis like London light pollution makes the night sky invisible. Only a few of the brightest stars and asterisms force their celestial light through the man made glow of the city. The night sky, one of the most beautiful of natural wonders is extinguished from view. Blackout City is an experimental timelapse film that makes the invisible, visible. It attempts to show what the night sky would look like If there were ever to be a total blackout in the South East of England on a clear, moonless, summers night.
I started shooting this project back in August 2013 and have been slowly gathering footage when conditions were right. Although each shot in this film is a composite, all footage is real.

Planet Earth in 4K

Great time lapse vid of Earth taken in 2011 between May 15th to May 19th, by a geostationary weather satellite called the Elektro-L...

Elektro-L is located ~40,000 km above the Indian ocean, and it orbits at a speed that causes it to remain over the same spot as the Earth rotates. The satellite creates a 121 megapixel image (11136x11136 pixels) every 30 minutes with visible and infrared light wavelengths.
City lights are not visible because they are thousands of times less bright than the reflection of sunlight off the Earth.
